View Your Instant Messaging Conversation History
As you participate in Instant Messaging conversations over time, both with individuals and groups, it is often helpful to have the ability to refer back to those earlier conversations when looking for information. Zimbra makes this easy by keeping a running history of all of your prior conversations. This article discusses the different methods available for referring back to an earlier Instant Messaging conversation.
- An email account at Skyway Networks with the Platinum, Gold, or Silver plan.
- A supported web browser on your computer: Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, or Microsoft Edge (version 80 or newer).
- Optional: If using a phone or tablet, the Zextras Team app from the Google Play Store or the Apple Store.
Step 1.) Login to your email account at: https://emailhosting.cloud.
Step 2.) Click on the "Connect" tab.
Step 3.) In the middle column, click on either the group name, or individual's name, with whom you originally had the Instant Messaging conversation. This will include conversations that you have had on your computer, phone, and tablet. A complete history of each prior conversation will appear in chronological order in the third column. If the conversation occurred over a series of dates, each conversation will display a header with the date on which the conversation took place.
Step 4.) Another option for vieiwng an Instant Messaging conversation's history is by using the Quick Connect bar. Click on the "Mail" tab as highlighted in the screen shot.
Step 5.) Next, on the right side of your screen, locate the Quick Connect bar. An example of the Quick Connect bar is shown in the screen shot below. An icon will be present for each group or 1-to-1 Instant Messaging conversation. Clicking on any of the icons in the Quick Connect bar will display the respective conversation in a small pop-up window.
Step 1.) On your Android or Apple device, install the Zextras Team app (refer to the "What You Will Need" section at the top of this page).
Step 2.) Open the Team app on your device. You will be prompted to enter these settings, followed by tapping the "Done" button:
- Email: (your email address)
- Password: (your email password)
- Server: emailhosting.cloud
Step 3.) The Team app will display a running list of all prior conversations as highlighted in the screen shot. Tap on any conversation to view the history. This will include conversations that you have had on your computer, phone, and tablet.
